Web Performance Trainer™ 2.7 Released

Raleigh, NC – This month WPI released the latest
version of Web Performance Trainer™ (WPT) that adds new high-end
features such as performance monitoring of the web server, username
and password wizards, session tracking wizards, byte-level transaction
logging, and improved browser simulation.

WPT is a web load testing and web stress testing tool targeted at
web sites that use standard technologies such as web forms, J2EE,
ASP, .NET, PHP, ColdFusion, Java, etc. Its proprietary automatic
analysis tells testers and developers how many users a web site is
capable of handling at one time using unique configurable performance
criteria. Because data is collected at the URL level, it not only
identifies slow web pages, but identifies the particular part of
the web page that caused the problem.

WPT has those hard-to-find advanced features such as ip spoofing,
client certificates, multiple simultaneous test cases, authentication
(usernames/passwords), SSL recording and playback, and much more.

WPT now makes it easy to do performance testing on sites with
complicated session tracking techniques such as URL rewriting.
Instead of clumsy scripts, WPT employs an easy to use Session
Tracking Wizard that guides testers and developers through the
configuration process.

Authentication support has been improved with the addition of the
User Identity Wizard with built-in support for web form, NTLM,
basic, and client certificate authentication. The wizard detects
the type of authentication and leads the user through the configuration
of separate usernames and passwords for each virtual user.

The Playback Tab has been enhanced to show the CPU load and memory
usage for the web server under test. This data is available in the
statistics and graph views.

The enhanced I/O Engine improves simulation of browsers. The number
of simultaneous socket connections utilized by virtual users is now
set to the default two connections used in Internet Explorer. The
complete low-level HTTP transaction details for each virtual user
may now be logged to disk for post-test analysis and troubleshooting.
