What kind of upgrade do you need?
A software upgrade is when a user moves to a new version of the software where the major or minor version number changes. For example, if the customer purchased 4.0, moving to version 4.1 is considered an upgrade. Once the support privileges in either the basic or premium support packages have expired, the user must purchase an upgrade in order to obtain a new release.
Since the price of upgrading later is the same as a Premium Maintenance and Support Contract, purchasing a Premium Maintenance and Support Contract provides the best value.
A license upgrade increases the number of virtual users costs the difference between the two licenses. So, if you purchased a 100 virtual user license for $1,995, and the 200 virtual user license is $2,995, you'd pay the difference, or $1,000. If you are a Premium Support customer, the concept is the same, only with the price of the support contract figured into the calculation.
