Real-browser support EOL

After the 6.6 release of Web Performance Tester, real-browser testcases will no longer be supported. We know that this feature is very important to some of you and we regret the difficulty this will bring. The 6.6 version will continue to support the real-browser testcases for those who have already created real-browser testcases or have purchased a license with the real-browser feature enabled. Note, however, that if Chrome is allowed to update itself on the machines running Web Performance Tester or the Web Performance Load engine, it may become incompatible with the Web Performance Tester 6.6 software. Our software requires an update for some Chrome releases (approximately 1 out of every 3 major releases) and we may not continue to make those updates after the end of this year. Technical support for the real browser features will cease mid-2017. Please contact us for advice in migrating real-browser testcases to our virtual-browser technology or to another testing platform.

We had high hopes for the real-browser technology, but the demand and technological costs have not met our expectations, leading to lower-than-anticipated usage. Many thanks to those who have used the features and the great feedback you’ve given us over the past 2 years.
